My name is Michael Carbone and I am an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, focused on Functional Core and Strength Training with a balanced knowledge in Nutrition and the ability to show you that eating more of the food you love will help you lose weight while having fun doing it! My goal is to inspire, encourage, and motivate clients to reach their goals and live well-balanced healthy lifestyles inside and outside of the gym.
Quick bio about me:
I was never heavy growing up. It was actually my absolute poor choices that lead me to health issues. Weighing 285lbs, I was having a hard time walking. My feet ached, I had a stiff back, sciatica from my right toe to my right index finger and more things I won't name. I couldn't even tie my own shoes without sweating through my shirts. It got bad for me and that's when I decided to do something about it. I joined a gym, started eating things I never thought I'd eat and off I went with no knowledge. I wouldn't have even known what knowledge to even look for at the time. I was clueless trying to lose weight but determined. I lost a total of 90lbs over the course of 2 years and was able to keep it off for 4 years, just to completely give up on myself during the Pandemic lockdown and put it all back on. Well most of it anyway. I put 70lbs of it back on....with it came those same issues. I was leaning forward. The back pain was starting to cripple me again I couldn't sleep well and sure enough. I couldn't tie my shoes. That was the deciding factor. I was so disappointed in myself. Again I was sweating through my shirts to tie them. So off I went again and joined another gym, but this time, I didn't want to do it again. I stopped in front of a stair machine and said. I can't believe I have to do this all over again....but. I stepped on it and I never stopped. I kept going. I kept learning. I kept understanding what food was doing now. I put myself in a caloric deficit and I started to learn how to build muscle and burn fat. I took myself all the way down to 175-180lbs but doing so I learned one thing. What I did the 1st time, was actually wrong. Well. Let me rephrase that. It wasn't wrong. It obviously did something. But I learned, If I ate more, then I would see better results from all my hard work. Yep, that's right. I said eat more! Who wouldn't want that? However in the beginning I didn't trust eating more was the answer. What if I get bloated!? What if I get fat!? That's the problem! So many people feel this way, they starve themselves thinking that's the answer yet...everyone is always asking why they can't lose weight. Or they workout hard but can't lose that last bit of weight that just won't go away and it's been 3 years of working out...I have your answer. I've done all the work, failed, learned, even joined the ISSA to give it all back. Give back everything I've ever failed at, so you don't have to! Currently I'm at a total weight loss of 105-110lbs. It doesn't even confuse me anymore. The more you eat. The more fat you burn and the more muscle you gain. Women, children, men, elderly, it doesn't matter who you are or what your goal is! Sounds easy right?
My mission is to educate my clients on why strength and core training can have long lasting benefits, empower others and provide them with the knowledge that will help transform their lives in a sustainable, consistent, and healthy way. I want my clients to be pushed to their fullest potential while feeling comfortable, educated, and 100% supported along their journey, all while having fun doing so! My promise is to show how you can eat anything you want while still feeling amazing, as I aim to help my clients reach all of their fitness goals safely and feel confident in their skin every single day!
